Halloween portraits have become a staple in our family, they represent so much of what the kid’s interests and personality was through the last year. The Incredibles
Dressing up as the Incredibles for a family costume worked for us as a family of four, we just dressed up my daughter’s baby doll as baby Jack Jack. These Incredible costumes would work even better now that we’re a family of 5, we may need to revisit this one!
We painted on our masks and I turned the kid’s Incredibles pajamas into their costumes by adding the “underwear,” black soccer socks and black gloves. The kids were so into character, getting pictures of “Dash” was quite difficult because he kept showing us how fast he was, and “Violet” just kept turning invisible!
2. Cinderella
Cinderella can work as a family costume idea for families of 3, 4, 5, or even more! Just add more mice or stepsisters. There’s nothing cuter than when Cinderella was dancing with Prince Charming. Letting them choose the family costumes and following their lead is such a sweet insight into their personalities.
3. Frozen
Frozen has such a great cast of characters and is such a family favourite that we’ve done Frozen for a few different Halloweens, it’s a really fun family costume idea with something for everyone. Olaf has been a perfect costume for layering warm clothes under in cold climates like our Calgary Halloweens.
4. The Mandalorian
Playing Star Wars in the Alberta Badlands with the kids may be our favourite Halloween memory to date, all dressed up together as a family as The Mandalorian and Star Wars characters. Is there anything cuter than a baby dressed up as Baby Yoda?! The Mandalorian makes for the perfect costume idea for a young family of three with a baby or toddler, or for any husband who would rather not be seen dressing up, the helmet is a perfect disguise!
